She has always been blonde, but yesterday Pixie Lott unveiled her new white-blonde look – just in time for summer.

The 19-year-old singer appeared to have noticeably lightened her hair compared to her darker style seen earlier this month.

The Mama Do star showed off her new hairdo yesterday as she made a surprise visit to Amesbury School in Hindhead, Surrey.

Students and staff at the school astonished the music industry earlier this month when the music video for their cover of Pixie’s hit single Boys & Girls became an internet sensation, after it was viewed more than 250,000 times on the internet.

When Pixie came across the video, she was so delighted with the quality of the cover of her song and the fact that it raied money for charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), that she decided to make a trip to meet some of the students.

She performed her signature tunes, Cry Me Out, Mama Do and Boys & Girls to the entire school, who enthusiastically joined her in singing the words to their favourite song.

Pixie said: ‘When I first heard their version of my song it instantly put a smile on my face.

‘They did such a great job and made it their own. This whole group of children made me so proud.’

Pixie also agreed to become a patron of CRY and will help the charity in raising awareness about the danger of undetected heart conditions.

She explained: I’ve just become a patron of CRY as it affects so many young people and it’s crazy that a seemingly fit and young person can just drop down dead.

‘I feel it’s important to raise awareness and will be using my new role to spread the word.’
