A lot of girls crop their hair after a big boyfriend break-up.

But don’t worry, Pixie Lott’s love life hasn’t hit the skids. Far from it.

In fact, she is riding high with a new look, new album and a sizzling relationship with her model boyfriend.

“I fancied a change of hairstyle so it didn’t get boring for me and to fresh- en things up a bit for the new album,” says the 20-year-old singer.

After launching onto the pop scene with two back-to- back No 1 singles, Mama Do and Boys & Girls, Pixie has notched up a further four Top 20 hits since 2009.

Hot new single All About Tonight is a taster of what’s to come on Pixie’s second album, which features col- laborations with soul aces Stevie Wonder, 61, and John Legend, 32.

“I feel like I’ve matured a lot since the first album,” Pixie tells me during a visit to the Daily Star offices. “It’s moved on a bit more.

“There are still some party tracks in there but the rest of it is more soul- ful, which is what I grew up with.”

We were the first newspa- per to write about Pixie and I saw her first live performance, a recording for Der- mot O’Leary’s Radio 2 show.

The hair might be differ- ent now but the lass hasn’t changed a bit. “I’ve grown up and the image progresses naturally, I think,” she muses.

She’s become quite the fashionista, with her fourth range for High Street store Lipsy ready to launch this autumn.

She grins: “Doing my own fashion range has been fun. It’s interesting finding vin- tage fabrics and using my mum’s old clothes, which have inspired the range.”

The video for All About Tonight was filmed in LA and shows Pixie having fun with her dancer pals.

“It’s an up-tempo party track,” she explains. “I wanted to get people inspired for the album.

“We started at midday and didn’t finish the video until 6am, so it was a long day but it was really fun.

“My favourite bits were the dancing scenes. It takes two to three days to learn the routines.

I love dancing so I was happy with that.

“I like dancing with boys but I prefer routines with the girls because it’s all about the girl power.”

She might be a girly girl at heart but Pixie’s face lights up at the mention of her fella Oliver Cheshire.

As a songwriter, she’s been pouring her personal experiences into her new record.

So will there be a love song for 22-year-old Oliver on there?

“My boyfriend naturally influenced a couple of the tracks,” blushes Pixie.

“I think he likes it. I haven’t played him all the songs I’ve written because I’d be too embarrassed.”

Pixie’s duet with her idol Stevie is another highlight in her life. She revealed: “I did a track in LA which might be called Stevie On The Radio.

“It features Stevie Wonder and he plays the harmonica on it. He was amazing.

“It’s a retro throwback song but I’m still trying to keep it contemporary.

“Working with Stevie just happened. I would’ve been over the moon just to have met him, never mind working with him.

“When he shakes your hand he holds it for a while so he can feel your aura.”

I bet Pixie’s was glowing.

Pixie’s second album will be out in November. All About Tonight can be down- loaded from September 5.

“I wouldn’t cut my hair myself. I tried that once when I was a kid using some blunt scissors. Never again!”

With her sophomore album due in November this year and a new fashion range available soon, there's no stopping Pixie and her inimitable talent.
Pixie has recently become a patron of CRY, a charity which offers support and awareness of cardiac risk in the young. Speaking about the charity, Pixie has said, "I've become a patron of CRY as it affects so many young people and it's crazy that a seemingly fit and young person can just drop down dead. I feel it's important to raise awareness and will be using my new role to spread the word." To find out more, or donate to CRY, then visit their website now.
