Heat jumped at the chance of a rare interview with pop star of the moment, Pixie Lott. She’s just launched her new fashion collection and is busy preparing for her performances at the Q Awards and Michael Forever tribute concert.

What have you been up to?
I’ve been in the studio everyday since January working on the album which we finished it last week. So at the moment I’m just focusing on the single and promoting the album that comes out on 7th November.

What the meaning behind the album name Young, Foolish and Happy?
It’s a song I grew up listening to, from a young age. I grew up listening to a lot of soul music and I think this album sounds more this kind of way. It’s a message that I’ve always really liked and I think it’s important that need to people remember, it’s just motivating and inspirational.

Do you have a favourite song?
I change my mind all the time, but one of my favourites is a ballad called we just go on.

Did you enjoy getting back in the studio?
Yeah, I love being back in the studio. I love making new albums from scratch because the first album, I spent like four years doing it, so this one was fun and we started completely from scratch. By the end it’s weird how it all gets finished because you never know how it’s going to go. I’m excited to start working on the next album as well.

A new album?
We’ve not started it yet. But I’m excited to get going on it.

You launched your fourth collection for Lipsy last week. How does you’re A/W range differ from previous ones?
This one has got party dresses for the Christmas season and some casual wear as well, which is just kind of based on what I think girls will like this autumn and winter.

Do you love fashion?
Yeah, I think fashion and music go really well together because they are about expressing yourself. I’ve always loved fashion and it’s been a really fun experience.

What’s your favourite piece?
I think it’ll be the suit one; with the matching shorts and jacket.

Your collection all about tonight is named after your No1 single? How did you feel about the song going to No1?
I was really happy because I always think when you release new music; you never know how people will take to it. I hadn’t released a single for a while so I was unsure of how it was going to go. But yeah so far so good, I was very happy.

You’re performing at the Q Awards gig on the 19th October, are you looking forward to that?
Yeah I’m really excited it’s going to be a gig where I get to sing some of my new stuff from my new album. It’s the first time I’ll be singing those songs. I feel like I’ve been singing stuff from the first album for ages and although I’ll be singing them at this gig, it’ll be fun do new stuff as well.

Are you nominated for an award?
I have no idea actually, you’ve have to been in the right time peak to be eligible for awards, so I’m not sure whether my album is in the right period of time.

Why do you like the Q Awards?
It’s a very prestigious award and is all about people getting recognised for their music and their talent. You get to be surrounded by a lot of talented musicians and it’s always a really, really good night.

There are a lot of female acts this year. Why do you think that is?
There have been some great young British female singers that are doing well and I think it’s great because we can all support each other. It’s a very girl-power era.

Have you got an outfit?
No I haven’t figured it out yet, but it’ll be something fun.

What about something from your new collection?
Maybe, there’s a good idea.

The Michael Forever tribute concert in Cardiff is going to be amazing! How do you feel about being a part of it?
It’s going to be so much fun. I’ve rehearsed with the Michael Jackson band already who are amazing musicians and met some of the Jackson family, who are really nice. I’m so excited to meet all the other amazing musicians who are going to be on the show.

Any plans for another tour?
Hopefully. Touring is my favourite thing ever.

Now for our favourite bit, time to get extra nosey with our not so serious questions…What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done?
I can’t think of the worst thing I’ve ever done but I can tell you a story. I tattooed this guy while I was on holiday with my friends in Greece this summer. He wanted me to write my name on his leg and tattoo it, so I did. That’s the first tattoo I’ve ever done.

Where’s the strangest place you’ve ever been sick?
In a car park.

Have you ever gone through an ex’s phone?
No, I think it’s good to respect people’s privacy.

When did you last Google yourself?
I don’t really look myself up, unless there’s an interview or a photo-shoot that I’ve done that I want to see.

What are the top 5 celebs in your phone?
Tinchy Stryder, Chipmunk, Professor Green, Diana Vickers and Lionel Richie.

Do any of them ever ring you or text you?
Only if we’re doing music or got a gig together. I’ve got a song with Tinchy that comes out next year.

Oh, what’s that one called?
Bright Lights.

What was the best freebie you’ve ever had?
My black Nandos card. My friends and family love it.

What’s your favourite book?
I tend to read biographies like Mariah Carey’s or Britney’s. I like reading the different ways they made it, what they grew up listening to and how they got so passionate about music.

What was your best kiss?
It was with my boyfriend Oli (Oliver Cheshire)

Is everything going ok with you two?
Yeah, I’m really happy.

Do you have nickname?
People just call me Pix.

What’s the drunkest you’ve ever been?
Probably New Year’s Eve is the time when that kind of happens.

What’s your ultimate fantasy?
I want to do bigger tours in more countries and just make things on a larger scale. I just want to keep doing this for a long time.

Any last words…
I would just like to say thank you so much to my fans for everything, I hope they love the new album.
